Why Join CPSY?
  1. Have you heard someone say that a story bothered or affected them deeply, but they didn’t know why?
  2. Is presentation of one style of life subtly prejudiced toward another?
  3. Can you explain why people are drawn to fictional stories, why that art or music compelled a social movement, why that video game is addicting, or why that ad made people run out and buy?
  4. Have you noted media bias or attempts to influence points of view?

Every aspect of psychology is portrayed in the media. So whatever your specialty, CPSY is your opportunity to analyze the media equivalent to help people gain deeper understanding of themselves and others, and how the media—locally and around the world—influence individual and social psychology.

The average analysis is only 1-3 pages. This is your opportunity to point out a movie's subtly manipulative psychological message, the meaning behind a music video's symbolism, a video game's seductive psychology you want to bring to light, or maybe a book's incisive psychology and what can be learned.

CelluloidPsych (CPSY) analysts have graduate or higher degrees in psychology or are graduate students in a field of psychology with at least 12 graduate hours in psychology.
